Museum of Prehistory Zug
The museum’s permanent exhibition takes visitors of all ages on a journey into the past of the Canton of Zug, from the Palaeolithic right up to the Early Middle Ages. Various models and stories make it easy to dive into history and bring back to life the day-to-day life of epochs gone by. Special exhibitions with a number of different activities and workshops are the cherry on top.

Office of the Preservation of Ancient Monuments and Archaeology
The Office is responsible for the upkeep, care, documentation and research of all archaeological and architectural heritage of the canton of Zug. Its employees examine houses meant for reconstruction or demolition and document potential archaeological finds, or are responsible for the archiving and preservation of the objects. The conducted research forms the basis of the work of the department of preservation of historical monuments and building consultation, or are being scientifically evaluated and published by the individual departments.
